Sam’s diverse litigation practice includes products liability, commercial disputes, and intellectual property. He has argued in federal district and appellate courts, taken and defended depositions, drafted dispositive and other motions, and negotiated successful settlements.
Sam is committed to service within and in addition to his legal practice. He was recently elected to public office in Chicago as a Police District Council Member, a new position focused on bringing a community voice to public safety and policing issues. He represents clients in pro bono class action impact litigation, and he contributes to the work of Cabrini Green Legal Aid, where he serves as co-chair of the Associate Board.
Before joining the firm, Sam practiced in Washington, D.C., where he focused on regulatory issues, congressional oversight, and government-related investigations and litigation. He also completed a federal clerkship in the Northern District of Illinois. Sam earned his B.A. cum laude from Yale University and his J.D. magna cum laude from New York University School of Law. In law school, Sam served as a legal intern in the Obama administration’s White House Counsel’s Office and as a student advocate working in the areas of voting, immigration, and LGBTQ rights.
